Unveiling the Rotating Hoist Ring: Redefining Lifting with Safety and Flexibility

Overview of Rotating Hoop
Swivel lifting rings, also known as universal lifting rings or swivel lifting eye bolts, are specifically designed for specialized lifting applications involving angled loads. Their distinctive feature is the ability to rotate 360 degrees horizontally and tilt 180 degrees vertically, providing a four‑fold safety factor in any direction. Compared with conventional DIN 580 lifting eye bolts (dead‑end lifting rings), swivel lifting rings are far more versatile, fully meeting lifting requirements from all angles.

In terms of material composition, WBG-type bodies typically use imported 42CrMo alloy steel, whereas domestically produced units often employ 35CrMo or 42CrMo alloy steels; imported products may instead utilize nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy steel or Grade 100 materials. On the market, The supply specifications for swivel hoist rings are primarily concentrated within the M8–M64 range. It is worth noting that several foreign manufacturers have successfully developed the WBG‑type M90 swivel lifting ring, with a working tensile capacity of up to 40–50 tonnes. This breakthrough will undoubtedly fill a significant gap in the swivel lifting ring market.

Tensile Strength Grade and Thread
Based on their tensile strength, swivel hoist rings are typically classified into G80 and G100 grades. Currently, YOKE‑type swivel hoist rings manufactured in mainland China and Taiwan conform to the G80 grade, whereas products from Sweden’s GUNNEBO and Germany’s RUD meet the G100 standard, offering a 25% higher tensile capacity than G80‑grade models and positioning them as premium offerings in the market. With regard to thread standards, bolted swivel hoist rings predominantly use metric threads; only a limited number of domestic manufacturers can supply imperial‑threaded versions. Because imperial threads place stringent demands on machining equipment, only a handful of Chinese producers are capable of producing threads that fully comply with British or American standards. The market primarily features two strength grades: 8.8 and 12.9. Imported swivel hoist rings generally employ 12.9‑grade bolts, while domestically produced models mainly utilize 8.8‑grade bolts.
Applications and Usage Precautions
With the rapid development of the domestic mold industry, Rotating hoisting rings have been widely promoted and applied. Mold factories, machinery manufacturers, and similar enterprises have become its primary customers. Meanwhile, the emerging wind power industry is increasingly demanding rotary lifting rings. Compared with traditional DIN 580 eye bolts, rotary lifting rings, with their flexibility, safety, and durability, are poised to see even broader applications in the lifting and handling sector.
Industry Applications
Rotating lifting rings are widely used in the mold, machinery, and wind power industries, gradually replacing traditional lifting rings thanks to their flexibility, safety, and durability.

Terms of Use
Please select an appropriate swivel lifting eye based on your actual requirements, and ensure that the load does not exceed its rated capacity; this information is clearly marked on the lifting eye.
Drill holes in the workpiece to ensure that the eye bolts can be mounted perpendicular to the surface. The threaded holes should be countersunk appropriately to prevent excessive thread expansion when the eye bolt is subjected to torsional forces.
Ensure that the workpiece surface is flat so that the lifting ring washer makes full contact with the surface, with no gaps allowed in between.
It is prohibited to place any shims between the lifting ring washer and the workpiece surface.
After installation, ensure that the side of the U‑shaped bolt on the lifting ring maintains a safe clearance from the load or other objects.
During lifting, apply the load smoothly and increase the force gradually to avoid impact and vibrational loads.
When using a VIPC swivel hoisting ring, be aware that the ring’s bolts may gradually loosen; therefore, perform regular inspections and retighten them to the recommended torque.
The side‑pull swivel lifting ring must be used in conjunction with the designated bolts and nuts.
Rotating hoisting rings are not suitable for high-speed rotation when fully loaded.
In addition, the swivel lifting ring has been meticulously engineered using mechanical CAD and ANSYS finite element analysis, crafted from high‑quality forged alloy steel, and equipped with ball bearings to enable 360° horizontal rotation and 180° vertical flipping. Its “four‑times rated load in any direction” capability allows for flexible adjustment according to the lifting orientation, while also offering manual fine‑tuning to accommodate varying pull‑direction requirements. The swivel lifting ring is suitable for a wide range of applications, including bolt‑on lifting, lateral lifting, and overturning of equipment and molds, delivering superior craftsmanship, exceptional safety, and reliable performance to ensure quality at every stage.
